These papers were given at the workshop organized in Ostia Antica on 27 – 28 May 2005 by the ICEF and the EU Forum of Judges for the Environment (EUFJE) in cooperation with the European Commission. The workshop’s focus was to assess the state of implementation of national legislation on the protection and remedying of environmental damage in the 25 Member States of the European Union, with particular reference to the Directive 2004/35/EC on the issue.
